Friendships Renewed

Reunions are about old friends and there were many hugs, tears and bursts of chorale over the weekend of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July 2009. Friends from far and wide attended  - Chris Kinder from Dublin, Stephen Wells from Cardiff, Pru Harmon from Fiji, Etsuko Toride from Tokyo - and the Rainey brothers from Nelson. People one had not seen, or even thought about, in years, were suddenly there, a smile and a hug, and a "remember when ..."  It was great to hear the stories of what people are up to these days - and whether its the current choir, or the alumni, the New Zealand Youth Choir is a success story and one that we must remember and we must celebrate.  I can promise you that we won't have to wait another 10 years to get together again, and plans are afoot already to find opportunities for the "Alumni Choir" to sing.  Thank you to everyone who attended and who made the reunion special.  Please email me at any time and let me know what you think about our plans, if you would like to get involved, and what you are doing now.  Ka kite ano, Barbara George
