
Judy
Bellingham - Vocal Consultant
Judy Bellingham has studied singing in Australia under Dame
Joan Hammond and Antonio Moretti-Pananti, in England under
the late Otakar Kraus, and more recently with Janice Chapman
and David Harper. She has a particular interest in contemporary
New Zealand vocal music.
Judy has appeared as soprano soloist with most of the leading
choral societies, regional orchestras and the New Zealand Symphony
Orchestra. She is a National Recording Artist for both Radio
New Zealand and the Australian Broadcasting Commission and
is an adjudicator at competition festivals throughout the country.
She is a fully accredited Examiner for the Australian Music
Examinations Board. Judy is now a Senior Lecturer in Voice
at Otago University.
Isabel Cunningham - Vocal Consultant
Isabel Cunningham was born in Northern Ireland and studied
singing with Dame Eva Turner at London's prestigious Royal
Academy of Music.
She moved to New Zealand in 1974, and quickly established
a reputation, particularly as an Oratorio soloist, collaborating
with local and overseas artists, and all major choral societies
and orchestras throughout New Zealand. She presented recital
programmes both on the concert platform and as a National Recording
Artist for Radio New Zealand.
Since 1980 Isabel has been teaching Voice Production and repertoire
in private practice, in schools and at the University of Auckland.
She was the Artistic Director of the New Zealand National Singing
School in the early 1990’s. Now retired from performing,
Isabel is based in Dunedin where she is a sought-after teacher,
maintaining a busy private practice in conjunction with her
position as Teaching Fellow in Voice at the University of Otago.
Aroha Cassidy - Maori Consultant
Aroha is a performing member of one of New Zealand’s
most successful and distinguished groups, Te Waka Huia, which
has won the Aotearoa Mäori Festival three times. She has
been involved with the group since 1981 and has represented
New Zealand in many overseas performances, promoting tourism
and culture for this country. Through her culture she has travelled
extensively; to the Opening Ceremony for the Seoul Olympics
in 1988, The World Expo in Seville, Spain in 1994, The South
Pacific Arts Festival in Australia and the Cook Islands, and
Canada for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Commonwealth
Games.
She has been involved with the NZ Youth Choir and
Voices NZ for several years. Aroha assisted the Youth
Choir
in two World Symposia and its successful competitions in
Wales and Gorizia, Italy.
Aroha is currently teaching at Long Bay College in Auckland,
and has also assisted the Key Cygnatures Girls Choir from Westlake
Girls High School. She has a Bachelor of Education in Mäori
and a teaching Diploma
