Iconic New Zealand composer Jenny McLeod puts Janet Frame's poetry to music and song in this unique pairing of the outstanding TOWER Voices New Zealand and the New Zealand String Quartet.

The theme of text in music begins the programme and individually features the strengths of choir and string quartet. McLeod's work forms the powerful finale, which showcases the ensembles collectively. Drawing on 11 of Frame's poems that focus on the motif of "the poet" she has utilised the lyrical and emotional intensity of these verses.
